Transportation
Administration of Non-Emergency Transportation (NET) is directed by the Fulton County Job & Family Services (FCJFS) community transportation plan. The FCFJS community transportation plan describes the methods by which FCJFS implements transportation services in accordance with Chapter 5160-24-01 through 5160-24-03 of the Administrative Code in order to adequately ensure transportation for Medicaid eligible consumers.
In order to be considered a qualified resident, the individual must (a) be a resident of Fulton County and (b) have a qualifying Medicaid assistance group for the month that transportation is requested.
Consumers who are in need of transportation services through NET may call, stop by in person, or send their request for the services to the transportation coordinator at FCJFS. NET services are available at FCJFS during regular business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. A consumer may leave a message after hours regarding the need for transportation. Contact will be made with the consumer the next work day to verify the transportation needs and arrange the transportation.
Requests for transportation services must be made at least three (3) business days prior to the scheduled appointment. If the Medicaid provider schedules a medically necessary appointment or the recipient is ill or injured and requires the Medicaid services before the 3 business days, an exception will be taken into consideration. Under NO circumstances will emergency transportation be provided by FCJFS. Individuals requiring emergency transportation will be advised on how to access such by FCJFS staff.
FCJFS does not have the option of attendants available through our NET program. If a consumer is in need of an attendant to be safely transported, the consumer will be referred to ambulette or other Medicaid covered transportation services.
