[ARCHIVED] Invitation to Bid-Demolition of 602 S. Shoop Ave

INVITATION TO BID

Sealed bids shall be received by the FULTON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS until 10:00 AM local time on Thursday, August 2, 2012 for the project known as:

602 South Shoop (Wauseon) Avenue Demolition

The bids are to be delivered to the FULTON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, 152 SOUTH FULTON STREET, SUITE 270, WAUSEON, OHIO 43567. All bids received will be opened and read at a public bid-opening meeting at 10:01 AM on Thursday, August 2, 2012.

DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: The furnishing of all labor, equipment, and supplies for the demolition of:

602 South Shoop Avenue, Wauseon, Ohio 43567

BIDDING DOCUMENTS: The plans, specifications, and all bidding forms will be distributed to those in attendance at the July 25, 2010 Pre-Bid Meeting held at 10 AM at the 602 South Shoop Avenue address. Contract Documents may be reviewed without charge during business hours at the Fulton County Board of Commissioners’ Office. Contract Documents may be obtained from Maumee Valley Planning Organization, 1300 E. Second Street, Suite 200, Defiance, OH 43512, 419-784-3882. Shipping will be at bidder’s expense. Bidding documents are also available on the Fulton County Board of Commissioners’ website.

BID GUARANTY: The bids must be accompanied by a bid guaranty. The Bid Guaranty must meet all requirements of Section 153.54 of the ORC and the Instructions to Bidders. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance and Payment bond in the amount of 100% of the bid.

COMPLETION TIME: The Project must be completed sixty (60) days from the date of the Notice to Commence Work.

COMPLIANCE WITH ALL LAWS: All work shall be carried out in compliance with all federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations that apply to the work. Any project specification item in conflict with a federal, state, or local law, rule or regulation, shall be void.

PRE-BID WALK-THROUGH
A pre-bid walk-through of the project sites will be conducted to familiarize any bidder to the scope of the project and to provide bidders the opportunity to discuss and clarify the work specifications. If alternative items are warranted, these must be provided in writing, as an addendum, to all participating bidders. All bidders must attend the pre-bid walk-through which will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 10 AM. Bids will not be accepted from bidders that do not attend the pre-bid meetings

MBE/WBE PARTICIPATION: Pursuant to federal regulations (24 CFR 85.36(e)) the prime contractor, if it subcontracts for work or supplies, shall take affirmative steps to solicit proposals from minority businesses and women's business enterprises. Bidders may contact the Maumee Valley Planning Organization at (419) 784-3882 to obtain a list of such businesses in the Northwest Ohio Area.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY CLAUSE: All qualified bidders will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, military status, or any other category protected by Federal, State or local anti-discrimination law.

BID FORMS: No bid will be considered unless it is made on the forms furnished by Fulton County Board of Commissioners. Bidders shall not take any exception to any requirement of the work specifications. Each bid must contain the full name of the person(s) submitting the bid and all persons interested therein.

AWARD OF CONTRACT: The Fulton County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids received and to accept any bid with any combination of alternates which is deemed most favorable to Fulton County Board of Commissioners at the time and under the conditions stipulated in the project documents. The Fulton County Board of Commissioners also reserves the right to waive any technical defects, irregularities, and omissions which the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, in its sole discretion, determines to be in the best interest of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners.
