In recognition of October as Fire Safety Month, Captain Jason Fisher of the Wauseon Fire Department conducted fire safety training for the staff of Fulton County Job & Family Services and Fulton County Workforce Development on October 16th. This training included the basics on what to do if a fire breaks out in our workplace, what steps to take to prepare, how to evacuate effectively along with a review of the evacuation plan for the building.
In addition, Assistant Chief Jeremy Shirkey, Curt Bowerman (FFII/Paramedic/FSI) and member Savanah Bailey demonstrated how to use a fire extinguisher and provided hands-on training. “We value our staff and strive to create a safe working environment by providing the tools and training needed to react to safety issues,” commented Fulton County JFS Director Amy Metz-Simon, “Thanks to the Wauseon Fire Department for providing this fire safety training.”
