THANK YOU EASTERN STARS!

The Fulton Chapter of the Order of Eastern Stars located in Wauseon has been in existence for 122 years since 1896, but little is known of this humble organization. Members of the OES are involved in the community as they use the skills they’ve learned and developed through Eastern Star to provide leadership, charitable services and financial support. The Fulton Chapter of OES has a mission this year to provide blankets and mats for the homeless in Fulton County. OES member Michelle Olson crocheted the blankets in beautiful patterns to show each homeless person someone cares while Millie Holzer used roughly 200 bags cut in strips to crochet each unique and colorful sleeping mat. Many are not aware homelessness exists in Fulton County, but with the help of OES, Job & Family Services and each Law Enforcement office now is able to distribute a blanket and mat to those in need. Thank you Eastern Stars!

OES Members Worthy Patron Wayne Carpenter, Worthy Matron Dee Lawrence, Michelle Olson, Millie Holzer and Donna Evans present the blankets and mats to JFS Director Amy Metz-Simon and Chief Jason Simon of the Fayette Police Department.
