Great Food and Genealogy Tips will be featured at June 13, 2017 Annual Banquet of Fulton County Genealogical Society.
DELTA – The next Fulton County Genealogical Society meeting is Tuesday, June 13 for the Annual Banquet. Dinner prepared by the ladies of Trinity Lutheran Church will begin at 6:30 p.m. The menu includes Smothered Pork Chops, Baked Chicken & Dressing, Mashed Potatoes, Vegetables, Garden Salad, Rolls, and Desserts with Coffee, Water, Tea or Lemonade. Margaret Cheney will present the program on “Researching Before 1850 - Methods and Tips on How to Research Earlier Records”.
Margaret Cheney is currently the president of the Ohio Genealogical Society located in Bellville, Ohio. The Ohio Genealogical Society is the largest state genealogical society in the United States with over 5,500 members. The state-of-the-art library is now six years old. Margaret also chairs First Families of Ohio, a lineage society that honors over 20,000 ancestors who lived in Ohio prior to the end of 1820.
Margaret has served on numerous committees for the Ohio Genealogical Society and has served as trustee and first vice-president. She helped form Century Families of Ohio (another lineage society) and has worked on forming the newest lineage society, The Society of Families of the Old Northwest Territory. Fulton County Genealogical Society meetings are held at Trinity Lutheran Church. 410 Taylor St., Delta. Parking and entry is on the back side of the church.
